2012 SOS: The Inner Haven in Times of Uncertainty

These are times of great change, times of chaos and of healing. Most importantly, these are times of the greatest transformation of consciousness on our planet in millennia. Ancients, looking ahead, called this era leading up to 2011-2012 the end times.* My heart sees these not as the end of our lifetimes, but a transition into no time, or The Now. What is changing is our experience of literal time. Through our personal struggles, each one of us has the choice to wake up to a greater awareness and accept life in the present moment. We live at this point in history with an incredible opportunity to awaken our minds and live not in the mental concept of past or future, which brings pain, but in the peace, joy and love of the present. The harmony that will remain when disharmony takes its last breath will all at once be realized as the only true reality.

Approaching the global dimensional shift, we have, consciously or not, been experiencing a new relationship with time. As time bends into no time, so much is shifting so rapidly that perceptually, last year seems like a month ago! Time is literally speeding up and can be experienced as “not enough time in the day” or as so much happening internally that by the end of the day we have trouble catching up with ourselves. Even if we are not being externally active or productive, each moment is dense with inner activity. The hours are packed full of the Presence of No Time merging with our linear mind as we reach for the crescendo of this age.

As we collectively slip into the new dimensional skin of the present moment, all structures that exist within an old paradigm are being purged of ways that do not serve us with integrity. In our lifetime we are seeing the collapse of a monetary system. We are facing a global energy crisis. We are enduring climate change and extreme environmental issues.  We are at war. It seems that on every front we are faced with monumental challenges around us.

Then we have our inner experience: our emotions, beliefs, personalities, physical health and spiritual connection. For all whom I speak with who are consciously on a path of evolvement, every level of the self is seeing enormous upheaval and re-assessment during these times. Our bodies and minds are learning to step in sync with our spirits. When negative thoughts and emotions come up, it is in response to this deeper process even if it appears to be related to an outer circumstance. We are feeling the integration of our highest spiritual potential and attempting to absorb this new reality. Our circumstances mirror this. The more conscious we are of this process, the easier the transition and the more deeply we feel the satisfying tones of harmony sounding in our hearts. Creating a new relationship with our mind and emotions can release the pressure and open us to the profound experience of ascension. (More on this below.)

Our inner states are brought to our awareness in perfect timing with our world, on its own parallel path of evolution. As the inner and outer worlds unravel together, it is easier to perceive how we, and the world, are One. The global energy field is becoming tangible to our senses in a new way. For instance, when there is a collective sigh of relief during the end of war people relax, have babies, open to life. Celebration is in the air with the feeling of new beginnings. Likewise, when there is a crisis experienced by many, a collective contraction can be felt physically, emotionally, mentally and psychically, especially by those who are sensitive to global energies.

As exciting and refreshing as this is to our spiritual selves who are ready to come into full expression, we may not always feel so enthusiastic! When we are experiencing both our own uncertainty or crisis and swimming amidst the waves of cultural fear, we might feel like rag dolls in a tornado. It can be overwhelming. As things collapse around us, we might find ourselves in struggle and fear. Fear is a knee jerk reaction to catastrophe. Fight or Flight. The sky is falling and we are panicked. “How will I survive this?”

When fear and instability are present to this degree, instincts related to death and personal safety stir within us. We might react by grasping for control in our lives and relationships when we feel out of control inside. Our fear might translate into survival instincts, anger and forcefulness. Or we may collapse in hopelessness. However our ways of coping manifest, this is an opportunity. The fear is arising because an old, outmoded part of our self is dying and a new Self is being born.  As we step back and look at ourselves in reaction, we may see that we are holding on tight in fear while what we are most needing is trust. At this point we can choose to let go, to let the old die and the new come forward.

When we surrender to peace and trust what happens? We can breath again and relax. Our hearts can open and remind us that life may change, or fall apart, but this unaltered presence of love and clarity is inside each of us, strong and stable. This is the one thing that is absolutely certain. It is attainable for each one of us. When we learn to reside here, deep in the center of our hearts, life changes radically. We come to realize the profound truth that however our lives unfold we are eternally safe and deeply loved.

Deep in our hearts we harbor the one true haven amidst the chaos. It is the inner presence that carries us with compassion, if we let it, through the trenches of our darkest moments. When we are lost in fear and helplessness, we can consciously choose to relax into the center of our loving hearts and let it carry our burdens. We can consciously release the churning of emotions and thoughts into the warm depth of our hearts.

In moments, we can easily diffuse the tension by way of this simple choice. Other times  we feel stuck in the struggle. The charge of emotion and fixed beliefs can feel like a strong undertow. Most of us have learned to express our emotions in ways that damage rather than heal. We act on them or suppress them which keeps us trapped in a compulsive cycle. Uninterrupted, this cycle will live on in our relationships, dependence on substances, health issues, money issues, etc.

When we choose to heal instead, our first step is to consciously face and release the emotional charge.  When we take some time alone to compassionately feel the fear, anger, frustration, helplessness and sadness fully we are giving ourselves the sacred gift of acceptance for all that we are. How liberating to feel it fill out our bodies and minds, and for the moment, let it have free expression. Neither dramatizing and forcing it or collapsing into it, we allow it to flow of its own natural movement. After it peaks, it moves out of our system while we return fully to our sane, peaceful center. Then, bringing every part of us back from the release and into the depth within our hearts, we come full circle into healing.

This is where change comes. Since we have emptied out the charge that took up space inside, there is now more room to breath and fill out with the peace that was waiting beneath it. Feeling peace, we fully settle into the presence of Now, rooting into this haven within and claiming it as our home.  Consciously feeling the texture of peace, harmony and safety is essential. This step anchors it more deeply into our body and mind, healing us from the inside out.

Imagine feeling this still center of harmony growing in your very own heart, regardless of the chaos around you.

Our personal release and healing will support the energetic system of our planet. When any one of us transforms into a new state, we act as an infusion of new life and healthy existence for all. Now is the time to release the tension that has been driving humanity and surrender to the building movement toward peace and safety that we are evolving into. A new order will be born of this current chaos and once again in the course of history we will find ourselves in a new era where our present day culture and beliefs will seem primitive only a few short years from now.

Join me now in meditation on relaxing into your haven of safety and peace through the inner and outer change.
